Sometimes the grumpy characters are the most interesting, and on occasion, even the most beloved. Name your favorite grumpy, grouchy character from a TV show or movie. It can be a real person, a puppet, animated... as long as they are grumpy and grouchy.
Mine: Oscar the Grouch (Sesame Street)
I don't have a favorite grump, but I can think of one that a surprising number of people like:
Grumpy, one of the dwarfs from Disney's "Snow White."
Yes, he was one of the OG grumps. π I think it can be good to have a grumpy character on a show where there is also a super perky, happy character (like Happy the dwarf). They balance each other out.
shareI think people feel sorry for him, often wondering what made him become that way. They also like how brave he was when the dwarfs went after the evil Queen in disguise, so he's not afraid of doing combat. It was also very cute how Snow White paid extra attention to him because she knew he needed it, and her kind, sweet heart and an effect even on him. That, and real people out there can sometimes empathize with a guy who's just plain gloomy by default.
