You use ChatGpt?

Seems fascinating. It's addicting.

I'm trying to limit my addictions

It is fascinating.

I was using it to try to understand some matrix calculus derivations because I didn’t have anyone else to ask.

I don't trust it, and frankly, it's not as smart as people make it out to be. Closer inspection reveals that it is just a slightly more glorified version of the Google Search Engine, and knows about as much. It's just better at arranging the answers so it creates the illusion like it's an intelligent person talking to you. It isn't.

Interesting. I know little about this stuff, yet.

It's actually a lot. Take, for example, a random text from Gutenberg project, pick a book that even the geniuses among us will find it difficult to understand (maybe Hegel?), copy a few paragraphs and it explain you what is all about in simple words. It's great.

Make no mistake, I think your explanation is quite accurate. For example, it has a tendency to invent quotes, books, stories, or characters that don't exist, due to its need to always please you and provide some kind of answer. However, the trick is knowing how to deal with the software correctly so that it responds in a more intelligent way. For instance, you can ask it to elaborate or draw its attention to the fact that it didn’t address a specific topic in its answer.

I use a co-pilot every so often. It's mainly for research of dates, manufacturing companies that are gone, and definitions.

No

I’ll let my brain do the thinking.

NOPE.
