Circumcision is fucked up...
Imagine first thing you experience on this mortal plane is some jew doctor cutting off your dickskin. So glad I have hoodie protection on my penis, couldn't imagine being circumcised, it would be horrible

shareWell, it makes you wonder....human men went for tens of thousands of years before Judaism developed, having no need to circumcise themselves. Why did that change when the Hebrew tribes came about?
By the way, I've heard that there's a conspiracy theory going around that Jews in the non-German governments deliberately talked doctors into convincing everyone in the free world to circumcise their boys right after birth, claiming that it was healthy and prevented bacterial buildup. The conspiracy goes that if someone tried persecuting the Jews again, they couldn't use stripping the men down and looking to see if they are circumcised as a way of identifying them, like what happened in Nazi Germany.
Jews are not the only people who circumcise their males. It's also Muslims, most of Central Africa, and white middle class males in the U.S. and Canada.

It seems that, somewhat uniquely, Hebrew culture was focused upon cleanliness, sanitation. The taboo about mixing milk with meat might derive from the fact that unpasteurized milk can carry disease.
The traditional rationale was that the foreskin was a breeding ground for bacteria, promoting infection. Which appears reasonable enough, to me, though I've done no actual research.
The Hebrews derived from a pastoral lifestyle - they didn't herd pigs (which don't abide herding), but sheep and goats. Perhaps shunning pigs was a means to differentiate themselves from the other semitic groups close by within the Levant/Palestine.
The dietary laws don't go back to the beginnings of recognizably Jewish settlements. They arose later on, somewhere (I'm spit-balling here) in the 4th-3rd century BCE.
The Hebrews also had the opportunity, as it were, to be exposed to basically all the great civilizations, aside from the Hittites : The Egyptians, Assyrians, Babylonians, Medes/Persians. Which is quite a cultural incubator.
THIS FEELS LIKE A TRICK TO GET A LOOK AT MY PEEPEE.🫤
shareEnjoy your smegma.
shareIn some countries and cultures, girls are also circumcised, which is pretty messed up, so I agree with you on that front.
shareThat's different. It's to remove the clitoris so women/girls can't physically enjoy sex. The reason given is to remind them sex is for only procreation, not joy. It's really misogyny and sexual hang-ups.
Circumcision in men had to do with cleanliness. Something more difficult to achieve in the ancient world.
Actually, it may have more to do with reducing stimulation and masturbation.
Most the ancient world did not circumcise.
Hebrews circumcised to prevent interbreeding with their uncut neighbors. They were no cleaner than anybody else. Religious hogwash.
CLEARLY YOU HAVE DONE THE READING...

It's not about being cleaner. It's about preventing infection.
Similar concern about avoiding certain foods like pig which could spread disease, worms, etc..
Recently, I read an interesting article about specific airline food which compared Kosher to nonKosher food. The Kosher looked fresher and healthier. It had a higher standard since it was inspected to meet religious requirements so it was suggested to always ask for Kosher if you used the airline.
Re: stimulation and masturbation. They married at very young ages, therefore that wouldn't be an issue.
Masturbation is always an issue in terms of "spilling seed". See my namesake Onan.
I just know that Romans, Greeks, Japanese and most other cultures did fine without it so there was some other motivation on the part of Hebrews.
There is an anti-sexual component, like there is in the barbarous act of female circumcision.
Irrelevant what Greeks, Romans or Japanese were doing. Hebrews cared about cleaniness, health and safety. A man isn't allowed to have sex with his wife while she's menstruating or resume until she takes a ritual bath (mikvah) purifying herself.
shareHaha. So you're saying Greeks, Romans and Japanese don't care about cleanliness, health and safety? I chose them specifically because they're all cultures which placed priority on bathing. They did NOT circumcise while the Hebrews did with a dusty knife in the desert.
Sorry, but it's obvious you have some religious awe for the ancient Hebrews. This goes to my point and this is more about sexual purity and ritual based on Judaism, not true cleanliness.
You just made my point! Greeks and Romans lived in city states with indoor plumbing and bath houses where it was easier to stay clean and avoid infection.
Circumcision was more popular by people living in "dusty" villages.
I'm just quoting from a conversation I heard between two knowledgeable Jewish men discussing the subject. I defer to them. They were saying it was practical for health reasons then later adapted into the religion and culture.
Similar to not eating pork. Pork is not sanitary. It was later adapted into the religion.
Americans are circumcised for health reasons.
I AM ONLY CIRCUMCISED SO I CAN RIDE THE BUS IN PEACE.
shareC'mon Keelai, if a foreskin was such a liability evolution would have naturally selected it into non-existence. It's part of the natural design of humans and other mammals.
Yes, pork was banned because of the lack of refrigeration. But the Jews practiced circumcision so their women would know not to have sex with Canaanite men. It was about keeping the tribe "pure".
Americans are circumcised out of bourgeois fashion. Western Europeans and Canadians are generally not circumcised. If it's for health reason why do Americans give a f**k and Europeans don't?
Pork wasn't banned because of lack of refrigeration. Most ancients knew how to preserve meat. It's a filty animal that eats crap, wallows in its own excrement and spreads disease.
"pigs are rather dirty animals. They’re considered the garbage and waste eliminators of the farm, often eating literally anything they can find. This includes not only bugs, insects and whatever leftover scraps they find laying around, but also their own feces, as well as the dead carcasses of sick animals, including their own young.
This leaves more toxins in the pig’s body.
...When you consume pork meat, you too get all these toxins that weren’t eliminated from the pig. For instance, there have been examples of pigs and pork products being contaminated with:
Ochratoxin A
Salmonella
Metals
Mycotoxins
Other toxin-related outbreaks
Did you know that pigs carry a variety of parasites in their bodies and meat? Some of these parasites are difficult to kill even when cooking...This worm parasite is very commonly found in pork.
what these worms do to the pig, they can also do to humans."
https://draxe.com/nutrition/why-you-should-avoid-pork/
Young Hebrew girls and boys didn't date. Their spouses were chosen for them by their parents.
Ancients knew circumcised is healthier and cleaner.
Europeans used to brag about not taking baths.
You probably eat parasitic pork, too.
Untrue. Not all forms of FGM involve removing the clitoris, and MGM has at times been promoted as an anti-masturbation and anti-pleasure procedure. It therefore serves the same purpose as FGM and, by your reasoning, is misandrist. I don't know why anyone would want to gatekeep the suffering of mutilated children, but you just have.
share"MGM has at times been promoted as an anti-masturbation and anti-pleasure procedure."
Not talking about Christians and their sexual hang-ups. Discussing about the reason it began thousands of years ago.
Another poster mentions his roommate getting an infection. Thousands of years ago, it would have been practical to help avoid infections especially when antibiotics didn't exist. It was more common at that time. It became cloaked in religious and cultural reasons, but it was just healthier. Medical doctors today still promote it:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2801794/
You act as if circumcised men don't become aroused or masturbate.
Female circumcision has to do with removing sexual desire. It's the opposite of sanitary and healthy since so many girls become infected, have medical issues or even die after the procedure.
If you get to falsely conclude Keelai’s argument is meant to endorse impunity for child mutilation, I guess the rest of us can conclude your argument is meant to endorse the bigotry and antisemitism in the OP.
shareYeah, that's why I'm agreeing circumcision is messed up - for girls. For men, I can't say, the opinions and "facts" on whether it's a generally safe and helpful practice are quite divided - even the men in this post are divided on the topic. So I don't think I'm educated enough on the topic to pose an answer regarding male circumcision, but I thought it important to bring up the fact this isn't something men alone experience, especially because it's pretty obvious it's worse for women in most cases.
shareI'm just talking about reason male circumcision started thousands of years ago. I'm not taking a pro or con position about it.
shareEver deal with infected foreskin? My college roommate had it so bad that they had to do a circumcision when he was 10.
It's been done by multiple cultures for a few millennia. We have the modern convenience of hygiene, medicine, and clean water. For times when that wasn't always possible, you would see some groups using circumcision as a means to counter infections that grew in those environments.
