Are there any shows you "left" that you'd like to get back into?

I've gotten some time off recently, decided to cross some stuff off my watch list & then realized, I have like a butt load of shows that I haven't finished or just flat out abandoned.

There are three types:

1. Shows I stopped watching cause they stopped being good. No plans of revisiting those. Like at all.

2. Shows that took way to long to release a new season that I just lost interest. I'm kinda 50-50 on these.

3. Shows that I just couldn't keep up with cause of work & stuff. There are a lot of these & would honestly love to at least finish those before my break ends.

Ones I've already crossed off in the past week:

1. Barry season 3 & 4
2. Alice in Borderland season 2
3. Harley Quinn Season 3
4. Infinity Train Season 3 & 4
5. Loki season 2

Four outta five were worth the wait.

From the top of my head, would genuinely love to finish these as well:

1. The Expanse Season 5 & 6
2. What We Do in the Shadows Season 4 & 5
3. Invincible season 2
4. It's Always Sunny season 15 & 16
5. Russian Doll season 2
6. Black Mirror Season 3 to current season
7. Fargo season 2 to current season
8. Mindhunter season 2
9. The Orville season 3
10. Resident Alien season 3

reply

Had some free time recently so i've been catching up on shows i started and never finished.

Shows i recently crossed off

Glitch seasons 2 and 3
Hanna season 3

Currently working through.

Harrow seasons 2 and 3
Killjoys seasons 4 and 5
LA Brea only caught the pilot just finishing season 1 now

reply

I only watched the first season of Hanna. It wasn't bad, I just didn't enjoy it as much as the 2011 film.

Would't mind continuing it though...

reply

I haven’t seen most of your shows, I tend to prefer crime series.
I can tell you that Minhunter really is excellent and the book is a terrific read👍

reply

Mindhunter season 1 was excellent but it was definitely one of the "took too long to release a new season" ones.

I think the gap between seasons was like 2 whole years. What makes the wait longer is that Netflix just dumps their shows all at once.

BUT unlike the likes of The Witcher & Lost in Space, I would genuinely love to revisit Mindhunter.

reply

I understand, the long gaps make me forget things as well. Also, I think Mindhunter was one of those fairly popular shows that the Covid shutdowns killed off. I guess there was no helping it.

reply

I think Fincher himself said that the show was expensive to make & not enough people were watching it.

Really good show but it is slow, dialogue heavy & not for every one.

Every since I was a kid, patience has never been my thing. Buuut, I feel like the gap between seasons keep getting longer nowadays.

Especially in the streaming era

reply

I hear you. If I recall correctly the final season of Breaking Bad took like 16 months to come out and they even split it in two. I get very impatient as well.

reply

No, the final season only took a year to come out. BUT they divided the 16 episode season into two parts of 8 episodes each. And there was a gap of one year between those 2 parts.

I remember that shit vividly cause I used to watch the show live & let me tell ya, that shit was infuriating.. 😅

And I've noticed that Netflix have been doing that with their shows lately. They say they will never do weekly releases BUT they will divide a season into 2 parts and release it months apart.

They keep doing that with the shows that get even a lil popular.

reply

I never finished Westworld. Left it at S03.

And I never finished Continuum.

reply

I watch the first episode of season 3 and just never went back to it. The gap between when i finished season 2 and started season 3 had been so long that i was confused about what the hell was going on. Finished Continuum though.

reply

I left Westworld at season 1. Fantastic first season. Heard mixed to negative things about the later seasons. It's one of those "I just dropped it" shows.

How far did you make it with continuum? I watched the first 2 seasons.

reply

I got somewhere into S03.

reply

Me, too. I never even tried to watch season 4. I have NO desire to go back. I agree with the critic who said "the show has become increasingly incomprehensible."

reply

The Orville season 3 Is definitely worth finishing. I haven’t watched any of the others on your list, although I’ve been wanting to watch The Expanse and Black Mirror for years now.

As for shows I gave up on: Elementary. I think I bailed out halfway through season 5. The first few seasons were good but it lost something after the fourth one. Regardless, I will likely go back and finish the show sometime.

reply

The Orville was a genuine surprise for me. Was not expecting to enjoy it as much as I did..

Same here with Elementary. It just started to feel very much like a police procedural.

But the way the BBC Sherlock series went off the rails & made Sherlock "super human" made me appreciate Elementary.

Went back to it & genuinely enjoyed it. Jonny Lee Miller is an underrated Sherlock Holmes.

reply

I left :

Westworld
Vikings
Better Call Saul
The new Bosch

If I'm missing black mirror episodes, I'll be sure to pick those up - great show.

reply

Same with Bosch. Left it at season 3.

It's not a bad show. I'm just really really burnt out on Cop shows.

You know how people say they feel Superhero fatigue nowadays? That's me with cop shows.

Most of the shows I watched from the early 2000s to mid 2010s were cop shows. And I genuinely enjoyed them at the time.

reply

Do you remember DaVinci's inquest - a Canadian show about a non-MD Coroner. Really enjoyed it.

reply

I've seen some of it & out of order. It was before the streaming era & it was shown pretty late in my area. Around 10pm.

reply

no

reply

I never watched Supernatural past season 5. Also I need to do a whole series watch of The Middle. I couldn't keep up after season 3.

reply

There are solo episodes of Supernatural that I would definitely recommend after seasons 5 but otherwise, Don't bother.

The show never reaches the heights of the first five seasons..

I got to finish The Middle thanks to Hulu (or maybe it was Prime? Idk). This is the second time I'm using the word "underrated" in this post but that show is hella underappreciated.

reply

The Middle is a show that will always mean a lot to me as one of the truly great modern family sitcoms. It's funny yet stays wholesome and is good for everyone.

reply

Back in January I caught up with Fargo. Left it after Season 3 and then I watched Season 4 and waited till Season 5 ended to watch it

The X-Files - Seasons 10 & 11 I finally got around to watching them recently too after waiting years. Same with Seasons 4 & 5 of Arrested Development

The Witcher: Season 3 - Might be a tough watch if I end up watching it since Season 2 was a tough watch it took me a while to get through that

reply

I would love to finish the X Files reboot/revival. Watched the first few episodes of season 10. It's not bad but it's just not the same. It's definitely missing something.

And with The Witcher, I never watched beyond season 1. It took like 2 whole years for season 2 to come out and by then, I'd just lost interest.

Besides, I keep hearing that season one is the only good season. Also, I only watched it cause of Henry Cavill. 😆

reply

Well S02 and S03 still have Cavill in it, but by S03 it degenerates into nonsense. Which is why he left.

reply

Ya, not even Cavill was enough for me to come back. I remember season 2 getting a mixed response from the fans but season 3 was apparently a shitshow.

I legit haven't seen single soul saying they enjoyed season 3.

reply

I liked season 2 with the Witcher hideout with the other witchers. That was a good season.

Signed, million man.
