How afraid are you of death?

As with most living things, I do have a fear of death and a will to keep living. I am very risk-averse and careful to avoid danger. But it doesn't really affect me that much compared to when I was a young child. I remember being scared of dying and me and my loved ones losing each other forever. But those feelings have kinda diminished as I got older.

When I talk about fear of death in this topic, I'm talking more about things like the process of dying and what happens to your memories, consciousness and identity after you die. I do hope dying isn't painful but I don't think about it everyday. I hope my memories, consciousness and identity won't cease to be upon death but again I don't spend all my life thinking about it. I've accepted the inevitability of death but still am hopeful for a good "afterlife", if it exists.

I'm best friends with the Grim Reaper.

Signed, million man.

My own death, not much. I'm more concerned about the death of other people.

Not very.

It happens to everyone.

There's a line - A life lived in fear is half lived - I think that's a great line.

I used to be very scared of death, my mother got sick with cancer when I was still a kid and her death really traumatized me horribly. I miss her everyday but don't fear death anymore. Did a crazy dose of dmt when I was young and experienced what God experiences dying countless times over and over again in horrific violent deaths. When I finally came out I remember saying "I am only a human, I only have to die once". Now I have no fear of death.

Zero FEAR of death, it's simply a thing in reality.
But, I enjoy living and definitely do things to keep living instead of dying.

I’m looking forward to it. As long as I live long enough to take care of my pet until he dies and fulfill some promises I made to my parents before they died I’m ready to go. What I really fear is becoming an invalid and rotting away in a nursing home.

I never believe people when they say they aren't scared of dying, because it's a concept that we can never understand. we don't know anything other than being alive. when you really think about it, it's a pretty heavy concept.

but it does freak me out if i really think that one day i won't exist.
