Not surprised by this. Especially since people have had "AI girlfriends" for a while now.
shareIf people want to do these AI character chatbots as entertainment like an interactive movie, fine. But the way some people treat them like they're real is so weird. They need help.
shareAs dumb as we all think this is now - and I fully agree - it could simply be human evolution into the 'Singularity', because people grow accustomed to cyber reality, we let it happen, and it becomes normalised.
As an example, I will point out that people from the 16th century could NEVER EVER NEVER EVER comprhend any remote possibility of us coming home after work, and staring at a TV screen for 4 hours solid before bed.
Nor sitting in a small box all day long staring at a computer screen and typing being normal for thousands of different jobs.
Nor walking around all day long reading news and social media staring down at a four inch screen.
