We were half way through a sweaty gig and our poor drummer was overheating and lost his way a bit in one of the songs (although I don’t think that the audience noticed). After the song I stepped up to the mic and said, “Sorry about that, we seemed to have turned into a jazz band for a second there.”
The rest of the band pissed themselves laughing whilst the drummer looked daggers at me, lol.
How can someone dislike Jazz? I can understand not seeking it out or preferring other styles. But Jazz can always be a great instrumental backdrop. It's probably the quintessential 20th century music. I don't get it.
