Same here. My car is always in my garage when I'm home. There are any number of vehicles parked in the alley or on the street, so I'm not worried.
My neighbors have cameras in the alley, although I'm not sure what good it does. These days thieves don't seem to care about cameras or motion-detector lighting. But I have to say that quite often, the local police know some of these shady characters, so it can be helpful to give them the video footage. Same thing with porch pirates.
Not too long ago, my neighbor across the alley posted footage of someone who decided to slash the tire of my nextdoor neighbor's car. Seriously, I can't imagine why. The only thing I can think of is the perp hated that he had a big-time security system in his car. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Go for it.. I have full coverage insurance and if your sorry ass needs it that bad because you refuse to get a job in what's supposedly such a great job market to afford a new one, then you have some issues
