Are VPNs worth it? Do you use them?

How much they cost?

I love my VPN. I use it all the time to to access content from around the world. They let you watch shows and movies in their native audio language, which helps with language learning, so for me a VPN is indispensable.

I virtually never use my laptop out in public (it pretty much is just a backup in case my desktop fails), so I don't think I really need the added expense of a VPN, even though it is not that much, maybe $10/month. I pay $55/month for internet, and that's all I really want to pay. So no, I don't use one.

reply

Yes. They add an extra layer of security to your computer because then people can't trace your real IP address.

I pay $7 a month for mine.

reply

I use one periodically. It depends on why you want it. I use a premium which has a good sales price.

reply

No - I have no need.

reply

Absolutely vital if you're a pirate.

Yes. I use them to evade region restrictions on streaming services. A VPN increases the number of films available to me substantially.

reply

Yeah, I use them. They're super useful if you wanna watch stuff from other regions. Fore example, there are a lot of movies, shows & anime that aren't available on Canadian Netflix but once I change regions to Europe or Asia, boom! you got something to watch.

How much do they cost? Less than & sometimes half of the cost of a streaming service. A VPN is worth it in my opinion.
