I think it might be St. Elmo's Fire. It has aspiring upward yuppies, the fashion and feel of that decade. The 80's themselves were something that either you liked or didn't including the culture just like the film. I imagine most think it was bad, like the film.
I bet Stratego will back you up on St. Elmo's Fire but I hated that movie (I DO love Stratego though.)
That movie was a total bore, SHEESH!
I'd say The Goonies, Back To The Future, Gremlins and E.T. were all really great 80s movies.
All the kids had bikes or skateboards, there was cool music and scary adventures, a cute girl was usually involved, nobody important died...just good escapist fun.
This is a really interesting question. I can think of several films just off the top of my head that all have heavy doses of things most people would associate with the 80's, but maybe in different ways.
Cobra (1986)
Weird Science (1985)
Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)
The Karate Kid (1984)
I also agree with KOWALISKI's pick: MANNEQUIN (1987) and nyctc7's Beverly Hills Cop (1984) and all of Shogun's picks too, especially ET (1984)
That's only one scene and is part of Dragon Sound's act putting on a show with their sweet Tae Kwan Do while playing good music. Friends to Enternity!!
