Should hot food be served on hot plates?
or warm plates?

personally , I find any of the above great , but I dont like the
"Holy fuck, where have you been keeping these? in the Freezer??? " plates

shareI use room temperature plates. The hottest plate is when I go to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. They warn you about them. They are very, very, hot. Sizzling.

shareHot food should be served on either room temperature, warm, or hot plates. Personally I would prefer room temp or warm, but I would take hot over a plate that's been in a fridge.
Definitely no cold plates.
