Raw talent. Although, "Fast Car" is a little overplayed. And IMO, it's not even her best song.

I was just remembering about Edie Brickell the other day who had one big hit with her band in the late 80s but then I never heard anything else from her although she remained active. She married Paul Simon and she plays music with Steve Martin.

Haven't so much as heard her name mentioned in 20 years. Fast Car was a nice song. It got played a lot in supermarkets.

I loved Fast Car and her style in general, but she was definitely a one-hit wonder and I couldn't name an original song of hers that I loved as much.
