What films do you think will get nominated for best picture at the Oscars?

I know it is still early, but here are my current predictions/wild guesses for the 10 films that will get nominated for best picture:

(in alphabetical order)

The Color Purple
The Holdovers
The Killer
Killers of the Flower Moon
Maestro
Oppenheimer
Past Lives
Poor Things
Saltburn
The Zone of Interest

What are your predictions?

reply

Who cares, the Oscar's are suck now!

reply

Nah, they are still good. Lots of people still care about the Oscars. There are multiple sites and forums about the Oscars and predicting them.

reply

Perhaps,(?), the awards mean something, but the ceremony lost its meaning to many of us years go. Haven't watched it in years and I don't care who wins because of all of the ridiculous rules concerning who or what can even be nominated.

reply

Last ceremony i watched, Chariots of Fire won.

reply

I never watched them much but they became too far left politically when Trump became elected. I don't want to watch them.

reply

good, go there

reply

I became less interested in them when they expanded the number of best picture nominees beyond five to include more popular movies and increase ratings.

reply

Dumb decision. It cheapened the category.

reply

I hope John Wick 4 sees some oscar nominations in the technical categories.

reply

The Cinematography was freaking beautiful, man!

reply

The only one I’ve seen is Oppenheimer.

reply

Most of the contenders haven't been released yet. Out of the ones I listed, I have only seen Oppenheimer.

reply

A lot of people said Oppenheimer was disappointing, just a lot of talking though.

reply

I thought Oppenheimer was fantastic. It has an 8.6 score on imdb, 93% on Rotten Tomatoes and 88 Metascore so it seems like the majority of critics and audiences did really like it.

reply

True. Oscars seems to like historical films too.

reply

I'm really looking forward to Poor Things, I reckon that might do well.

reply

Yeah, it looks interesting.

reply

Drop The Killer and Saltburn, add Barbie and Napoleón.

reply

A musical Color Purple.

Oppenheimer Win's for the Most Boring Movie.. I mean if anyone else but Nolan had made this, it wouldn't have done as well.. Nolan could make a 3 Hour Epic on the invention of Charmin and the Nolan Bros would turn out in full force..
