For early 80s effects, it still looks so real.
Did you see The Day After? I think it came out a year before Threads. Very similarly movie, except it was based in the US.

Threads is just so shocking to watch, and because it's made partly in a documentary style it adds to the realism.
Yes. Unfortunately, The Day After had a hopeful ending, whereas Threads was more realistically bleak.

Oh god, I saw one with Robert redford (I think!) Where he was alone on a stricken boat in the middle of the ocean. Boring and depressing and I don't recommend it at all π©
