Can movies be good/ fun again?

Or are we stuck with this full on never offend anyone, message crap from here on out while morons make the world a "better place"?

There are always diamonds in the rough, and there are always crap films no matter the decade. The answer: just watch old movies, because yes, they're better.

reply

yes, true! That's what I love about all these shitty remakes (that TANK BTW as a perfect example), is that the original films are still there, often times enhanced to HD or 4K and look/sound better than ever! :)

It's a shame that the old films ARE better. Like, really? We haven't grown in film making now that we have the most advanced tech and options ever in the history of film making? Sad.

reply

There are good remakes here and there, but most of the time they're crap.

I was watching Spider-Man (the original 2002) the other night, and I was trying to figure out if there are any modern movies made in the past year that are better than it. There aren't. I couldn't name one that was better.

Gen Z would hate the 2002 SPIDER-MAN because of it's lack of DEI, unlike the SPIDER-VERSE Movies that check all the boxes for this which is why they're so popular amongst this Generation..

I'm Gen Z, and I'll have to disagree with you, a lot of people in my age group love the old Spider-Man movies. Honestly? I like all of them. Now, if we're going younger than that.... then yeah, I don't think they have the same appreciation for it.

(I don't know what DEI means.)
