As a rocker, it's more rare for songs to fade out but, like, just finish the song like a normal person. Musicians aren't going to start singing lower and lower when they perform it live, so give it a proper ending in the studio.
I fully expect this thread to be parodied, but I'm being serious.
I prefer an ending to be telegraphed in advance rather than a sudden end.
shareI guess I'm used to it, but it would be nice for some songs like All Along the Watchtower or Fade to Black or Mister Crowley that have some kick ass guitar going during the fadeout to keep going at full volume instead.

Yeah, that works. Although that doesn't sound like they were unsure how to end it. It actually fit the tone of the song and they could probably perform it that exact same way live.
