sharePride is one of the seven deadly sins and these narcissists want a whole month of wallowing in it.
Well, since every month is Happy Sloth Month for me, so I can't begrudge anyone else for having *one* month to 'wallow' in one of the seven deadly sins.
shareThe obvious difference that you are ignoring is that slothful people don't parade up and down the street in lewd costumes screaming " Look at me, look at me ! " like narcissists.
LOL π€£ π―
shareMaybe not sloth people, but sports fans yeah.
shareYeah, but that's only because we're too lazy, otherwise...
shareWrong.
May = Pre-Pride Month
June = Pride Month
July = Post-Pride Month
October = LGBTQ+infinity History Month
Give it more time and it'll be half a year.
Tommy: Mommy, what is gay?
mommy: that is adult stuff. never you mind.
Tommy: but they talk about it in our 4th grade class....
mommy: (sigh) be quiet and take your Adderall, while I take more Sertraline....
Happy pride, Onan. Wherever you are.
shareHappy Pride.
shareIt's interesting that though pride is considered one of Christianity's 7 deadly sins, it is not part of the contents of Pandora's box. Instead a few things in it are greed, envy, and hatred. The Greeks came before Christianity, yet they were more advanced, it seems. More in touch with their reality too.
shareEverything is acceptable in moderation (apart from the obvious: murder, sexual assault, child abuse, dictatorships), including the seven deadly sins.
A bit of righteous *anger* is often necessary for essential change. It's often important that people unwind so a little bit of *sloth* can be a good thing. *Greed* is often another way of saying *aspiration*. And a certain degree of *pride* in one's identity and sense of self is also a good thing, as long as it never turns into *vanity* or *hubris*.
IMO not everything is acceptable in moderation, but each one of the 7 sins can be accepted in moderation, I agree with that.
shareI must admit, I struggle to find the positives of *gluttony* or *lust*. Obviously, we need to eat, and sexual attraction is important to procreation, and a healthy, fun thing in itself, but overeating and perving don't really have any 'positive' sides. And, yes, not *everything* is acceptable in moderation. There's no such thing as 'moderate' racism or 'moderate' child abuse, but a lot of things *are* acceptable in moderation.
shareGee, I wonder who is making it political and to what end?
Every society seems to need scapegoats and methinks the alphabet crowd is allowing themselves to be set up as that scapegoat.
Look at the they/them with blue hair and not the guy making billions and possibly poisoning healthy children...
Happy pride month!
