how much detention did you get in school?
on day and it was bogus.
shareOne day, and it was excellent!
The session was presided over by a coach/teacher who told us to do homework or be quiet while he sipped coffee and read the newspaper, and we were dismissed a little more than 30 minutes into what was supposed to be an hour long detention.
A LOT...ALSO STRAIGHT A'S...I WAS THE CLASS CLOWN AND ON THE HONOR ROLL...UNTIL I WASN'T...I STILL HOLD TWO RECORDS AT MY PREVIOUS SCHOOLS...I AM THE ONLY KID TO BE SUSPENDED FROM KINDERGATEN AND ONCE I WAS SUSPENDED FIVE TIMES IN TWO WEEKS...DETENTION TURNED OUT TO BE MY FAVORITE CLASS.
sharethey have a photo of you in the vice principal's office.
shareI got it once for legitimate reasons and some other times I got in trouble because I knew Jessica would be there and wanted to hang out with her.
shareJust a few times, I generally always respected my teachers and did what they said, I did have great teachers. It was the fighting that got me in trouble.
A strange upbringing can give you an angry outlook on life and punching an idiot in the throat or bladder can cool things down right quick.
None. Not sure my school had that. They used to either discuss things or kick you out.
shareNot too much. I soon settled down. I was actually Head Boy in my final year (I think that's just a UK thing).
shareso is head boy like a hall monitor?
shareHall monitors are 'prefects' here. Then over them are one Head Boy and one Head Girl, who are kinda like union/federation reps for the pupils, acting as go-betweens between staff and pupils. It's funny how I ended up with it. It wasn't something I ever wanted, but as time got near everybody kept telling me that I was bound to be the next Head Boy. There were two votes; one polled from the staff, and one polled from the pupils of the senior years. In the end it came down to me and one other guy. He narrowly won the staff vote, but I won the pupils vote by a landslide. So when they were all totalled up I was the outright winner! Pupil Power!
shareA couple of times, maybe three? But I never showed up and no one cared enough to make anything of it because I was a great student and many teachers are lazy. It wasn't intentional rebellion, I just quite literally forgot to go or couldn't remember where it was being held, so I never bothered asking.

Same actually. One detention and it was an injustice. But there were a fair few times when a detention would have been perfectly justified and I didn't get one, so I suppose it's swings and roundabouts, innit.
