I don't understand

MY OPINION. I truly think that Jennifer Lawrence is a terrible actress. I have seen almost 20 movies with her and my big problem with her performance is that in my opinion her acting is hollow, wooden, one dimensional and lifeless. I've definitely never loved any of her acting and yet she has won an Oscar and I've never met a film critic other than myself who doesn't love her acting. However I do think that Emma Watson is a very UNDERRATED actress. I think she deserves way more credit than she gets. I also think she is a much better actress than Lawrence but I really want to know what is it about Lawrence that people love so much and what people hate about Watson?

Mine is that I respectfully disagree.

I pose that the reason you enjoy watching Emma Watson is because you're attracted to her and perhaps less attracted to Jennifer Lawrence (if at all). That's not a judgement, we're all attracted to different actors for different reasons. I enjoy both actors, I see the good and bad in both their performances. I don't know how to be unbiased about it, so I can't call this an unbiased or objective opinion, but in my esteem, Watson is a far weaker actress than Lawrence, though she is prettier - but for me, because she is weaker at acting, I enjoy her performances less.

At times, both have a contrived quality to their acting, but Jennifer Lawrence seems to be better at getting comfortable in a role and eventually owning it, while Watson seems to always play the exact same type with almost no variation. I don't know that anyone loves Lawrence's acting, I think Hollywood loves her more than the public; Watson is stuck in the minds of Potter fans as Hermione forever and can therefore do no wrong to a lot of fans, so there's a lot more love for her from the public than Lawrence.

Great answer. Both are limited actresses but in different ways. Lawrence was very good in 'Winter's Bone' but it was one-note dramatic performance. Even the habitually awful Daniel Radcliffe did well with one of those in 'My Boy Jack'.

Watson was very good as Hermione where she played a posh, clever and likeable little girl. But neither she nor Lawrence has done much of note since those roles.

JL was great in 'Don't Look Up', which I consider a very important movie, culturally. I prefer her looks to EW, about whom I have no opinion other than she's kind of a skinny waif. If I'd been a kid during Harry Potter days, I might have a boner imprinted upon her, but I wasn't and don't.

I think they're both terrible actors lol, so sorry.

Well...

Your username for one is UNPOPULAR OPINION...

Maybe that explains it...
