why did pranksters stop making crop circles?

It was a fad for alien teenagers and they just moved on to something else.

I truly hope these delinquents or "pranksters" as you call them completely stop these heinous acts. Any time I see crop circles in the news I can't help but think, what a waste of food.

I think once it became obvious it was pranksters and not some unknown element it became boring. You don't hear about Yeti or the Loch Ness monster being sighted as often now either. Or UFO's.

I actually did a tiny bit of research on crop circles, for a night school sociology class. So IMHO if crop circles are no longer news, it's because now every but a few nutters knows they're faked up by nerds working in teams, back when they were a genuine mystery people talked about them a lot more.

So now most crop circles are made with the permission of the farmer who owns the field being flattened, they hold crop circle team competitions (held at night, with points off for any light shown), there have been crop circle advertisements for fuck's sake! Crop circles are just another hobby now, not a fascinating mystery.
