reply

Lemmie look him up then.

I put a link. I forgot to paste it before I hit reply.

reply

I honestly had never heard them before. That keyboard definitely does not have the Union soldier vibe going. :)

reply

You've never heard those songs before??

reply

No. I seriously haven’t. I like all kinds of music from different eras but I missed them somehow.

reply

they had a few singles in the late 60s. not much staying power.

reply

The Union soldier uniforms were just a gimmick a la Paul Revere and the Raiders. The band name really comes from the city Union Gap in Washington near where Gary grew up.

reply

and the union gap.

reply

Haha, Gary Puckett and the Union Gap! A true blast from the past. Before my time, but I have an uncle that liked that stuff. I also saw Puckett when he hosted those late night infomercials (with the late Mary Wilson of the Supremes) for CD compilations hawked by Time/Life, stuff like “Sounds of the 60s” and “Freedom Rock” and that type of shyt. He and his Union Gap band members had some groovy threads, man, totally far out, man…. lol…..good times!

Rolling Stone does not cover opera or Jazz, so it is impossible for its list to cover ALL superb vocalists, like Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme, Leontyne Price or Eva Cassidy. I reject your “of all time” topic title.

reply

That’s why we are doing are own.

Which will cover all music genres.
