Heath Ledger - The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. I really liked it

He died before he even finished it. But he was good for the short time that he was in it.

Marilyn Monroe - The Misfits. And Clark Gable for the same film. Also, James Dean in Giant.

Certainly not Betty Davis. Her last movie was “Wicked Stepmother” and not a film worthy of being the swan song of such a prestigious career.

I'm assuming it doesn't have to be their final role (Judgment at Nuremberg wasn't Garland's final role). So The Whales of August (1987) it is.
