Depends what there actually saying and context etc.

Let’s say someone made 5000 posts and 4000 were about rape, wouldn’t you think it a bit obsessive or maybe it’s just me?

reply

Yeah that would be weird:

I don't know what I'd do other than just ignore them though.

reply

I want to ignore them, but there’s always that possibility that I’ll turn on the news one day and there they are 😳

reply

Kinda like that gunman from Uvalde, Texas.

reply

Yes.

reply

Yes obsessive or yes just me?

reply

4000 out of 5000 = very obsessive

reply

Refuse to engage and possibly, depending on the nature of the post, report it.

reply

That’s the problem, technically they aren’t breaking any laws because they stay just the right side of the line. It’s still creepy though.

reply

IGNORE and move on. Life's to short.

Our rape them.

reply

I think you’re right (the Ignore bit).

reply

Signpost said poster to rape counselling. That, or inform the authorities.

reply

I don’t think the authorities would be interested.

reply

It is weird, but I would choose not to engage. Calling them out likely wouldn’t make a difference.

reply

I’ve never used the Ignore button before, so non engagement might be the solution.

reply

I might have answered (in an earlier reply), but it depends on many things. If it's a 'new' user, I have a shorter bullshit leash. If I read something stupid and insincere, I'll put them on Ignore. But this was something discussed when I was in college (I majored in Criminology and Sociology) and besides the usual, "It's not about sex, it's about power", I don't know how I would act, because I don't remember ever reading about rape.

This reminds me of an interaction years ago. Someone said, "Women fantasize being raped by a man", and the woman told the man, "Fantasizing about it does not mean we want it to happen" and I think it's probably the same for men. It's been over a decade since college, but we were taught the UCR (Uniformed Crime Reports) were the most accurate, but I don't know any rape statistics, if it's going up, down, etc.. I did hear about 30k-70k reports of sexual assault in the US military. I also remember a few generals saying this would happen, but then there's the other side who says men should control themselves, but then one can argue that in times of isolation, not having options, possibly seeing death and coming close to it, man probably becomes more "animal". I'm not conservative, but for the sake of the woman (and society in general), I would separate them. 70,000 women who are sexually assaulted will never be the same, and have to eventually come back to the US. I don't remember the stat, but I do remember how astounded we were at how women will pass up "good guys" and hook up with abusive men. I once asked a "friend with benefit" why she didn't date guys like me. She said something about liking the bad boy bullshit. I told her I had never been to jail, and never wanted to, and would never diminish myself for a woman, or anyone else.

reply

Perhaps I should just ignore it all.

reply

The only way you can kill a troll is to ignore it.

reply

G - Respect their right to freedom of speech while simultaneously telling them that their opinion was stupid.

reply

Wouldn’t that fall under A or B?

reply

A or B doesn't allow to respect their right to freedom of speech

reply

I DO THAT ALL DAMN DAY LONG AROUND HERE. NOEMOJI

reply

HONESTLY...I DON'T THINK "HE" IS A RAPER...I AM LEANING MORE TOWARDS VICTIM. NOEMOJI

reply

I had not thought of that 🤔

reply

That's what I was thinking when I mentioned hurting themselves.

reply

I see.

reply

Good point, K! He definitely does not come across as predatory but actually as more passive. His frequent references to that taboo subject could be a type of catharsis.
