Which 90s song gives you the most nostalgia feelings?

For me, "Only Wanna Be with You" by Hootie & the Blowfish. The music video makes me feel even more nostalgic.

When they sang: Mmmbop, ba duba dop Ba du bop, ba duba dop", it really spoke to me on a personal level.

When they sang: "Plant a seed, plant a flower, plant a rose, You can plant any one of those". I quit my job as an Investment Banking Associate and became a Lawn Care Technician.

It's official: Hanson lyrics > Bob Dylan lyrics.

Snow - Informer

In 1992, I did the rap with my friend playing MC Shann for Talent Show Day or some end of the year project.
Sometimes at parties, I'll rap it -- just for laughs.

reply

I would love to hear this!

reply

Maybe the next time I get drunk, I'll record it and share it with you all :)

reply

that would be awesome, did u win the talent show?

reply

I don't remember, actually.

reply

Not necessarily the most nostalgic but the most seminal would be for me “Smells Like Teen Spirit” considering how much it changed the musical landscape. I remember seeing first the TV commercial they got the title from and then later hearing the song and wondering about the connection.

No Rain by Blind Melon

This song reminds me of driving down to Central Michigan University from the U.P. to visit my girlfriend. We have been married for 28 years!

reply

28 yrs - congratulations.. I love hearing those stories in lieu of so many I know who are divorced or unhappy.

I've seen some good concerts at Soaring Eagle - in the middle of nowhere (the way I like it).. I've only been across the UP (just over the bridge and back), but there's some beautiful lakes/nature - Higgins, Houghton, Hubbard, Lakes of the North, Canadian Lakes (bit more south/west)

reply

The U.P. is a beautiful place. It's a great place to vacation if you like the outdoors.

Is it difficult finding a cabin to rent for a weekend, or a few days during the week? It's been about 17 years since I last went up there, and I know I better go now, before there's nothing but strip malls!

reply

This is a very sweet memory...also connected to a very sweet music video. ;)
