Movies that are hated but aren't that bad

The Adventures of Pluto Nash
Not a great movie but not awful either.

Dream House (starring Daniel Craig)

Critics hated it but I thought it was a decent enough flick.

Really don’t get why critics and viewers don’t like this but then all sing the praises of terrible movies like Scream, Friday the 13th and Psycho.

It's been so long that I can't really remember if I liked the movie or not. If I remember right, I think I thought it was just meh. But what I do very vividly remember while watching is after awhile I started noticing that this guy's last name was incessantly brought up over and over again. And I remember remarking about that thinking that it was an odd thing. And then of course come to find out it's a major plot point. I thought that aspect was very contrived.

Son In Law, 1993. I always enjoy this gem when it's on tv.

“Gem”🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

reply

I liked that one. it really wasn't that bad.

reply

It has Adam Sandler. It is a priori bad.

reply

adam sandler was in that? I don't remember at all

reply

Adam Sandler was not in Son in Law. Don't you ever get tired of "correcting" people and being completely wrong?

reply

Son in Law was funny and Carla Gugino...😍

Judge Dredd (1995)

reply

I’ll have to rewatch that one, it’s been ages.

Did you see the Karl Urban Dredd (12)?

It was very similar in story structure to The Raid:Redemption (11)
Gunfights, martial arts, an enormous tower to blast through, crazy kills, a badass hero and diabolical villains…GREAT stuff👍

reply

Yes, I've watched both The Raid and Dredd. While similarly great, I prefer The Raid a little more because the mind-reading sub-plot in Dredd just went nowhere and left unexplored.

I still like Stallone's Judge Dredd tho' maybe because that was what I grew up with, but also the story was interesting how "The Law" is being accused of breaking the law. Basically predates Minority Report for a good few years.

reply

Fair point, the mind reading element was sort of forgotten.

I do wish that Dredd had gotten a sequel or two but it’s been 10 years:/

reply

I just remember they were planning to make a tv show with Karl Urban reprising his role as Dredd a few years ago. What happens to that project?

reply

No idea what happened with that, I guess I forgot that was in the works..?

I’d watch that though, I’d be all in!
