Who was supposed to be the next big thing in music (for better or for worse), but it never happened?

Faith No More, still iconic but they were supposed to be as big as RHCP was. Now people just see them as a one hit wonder.

Ciara, not my type of R&B, but it's baffling how she never got as big as Beyoncé or Rihanna.

Dead Prez was supposed to be the next Public Enemy

BLUES TRAVELER...LITERALLY AND FIGURATIVELY.

Alicia Keys is not as big as I thought she would be.

That's kinda true, and it's bafflingly weird.

Norah Jones

Jazz will always be esoteric niche.

Yeah, but people even barely remember her.

Not me. Come Away with Me is one of the best albums of all time.

This is a good example. She's amazing, but America needs a song with a hook. She didn't deliver the follow up.

Wasn’t Peter Frampton on the rise right before disco took over everything?

Ryan Adams

He seemed pretty close. That album in 2000 was so good. Listened to it all the time.

I'm going to get ahead of this one and say Billie Eilish....The song is fun, but she was presented as the next big singer, and she is not.

Nelly Furtado I'm like a Bird.

She's quite big in Europe.

Because we seem to have a lack of assholes at the moment, I feel the need to step up.

She's quite big all over:
