Tonight! - Guns N’ Roses, Tottenham Football Stadium, London 🤘🎸
I’m really looking forward to this. I’ve heard reports that the play for 3.5 hours!
shareI’m really looking forward to this. I’ve heard reports that the play for 3.5 hours!
shareThat sounds like it’s going to be great. Let us know how it goes.
shareChecked into the hotel in Edmonton. Now getting the overground to White Hart Lane. I’ll keep you updated.
shareIt was good, not great. Axel (or ‘fat Axel’ if you prefer) hasn’t aged well. He looks like he has no neck!?
Lots of padding - they could’ve shortened the 3 hour set to 2 hours and made it punchier.
Did they play one in a million?
shareI might have been at the bar/toilet at this point 😬
shareI picked up GN’R Lies on vinyl the other day and it was pricey. I do think One In a Million is one of their best songs even with the controversial lyrics. I’ve been curious if they play it live these days.
shareThis was the full set list: -
It's So Easy
Mr. Brownstone
Chinese Democracy
Welcome to the Jungle
(Link Wray's "Rumble" intro)

Thanks for posting this. Rocket Queen was always one of my favorites.
shareIt's too bad that Axl Rose can't sing like he could in the '80s and early '90s. He was one of the best rock vocalists ever in his prime, and now he's not even a good singer. There's a fat Mexican guy on YouTube who sounds way more like prime Axl Rose than current Axl Rose does:
https://youtu.be/5UM5D3m2dFE
Axl should hire him to sing live backstage while he lip syncs on stage. Everyone would think he got his voice back.
I’ll let you know how he gets on.
shareHe’s lost an octave; he can still sing, but not like his youthful days.
shareThe main problem is that his voice doesn't have the rasp that it used to (he used to have a controllable rasp that he used to very good effect). It was particularly bad around 2010; he sounded like Mickey Mouse. I made a video a long time ago where I cut back and forth between an awesome 1992 live performance of November Rain and a pathetic 2010 performance of the same song:
https://youtu.be/vvAUW5UEbMY
He may have improved some since 2010, but he's still a shadow of his former self. Even under the best conditions (i.e., recording studio), he still doesn't sound good. For example, in the "new" song "Hard Skool," which contains a mixture of current Axl's singing (the verses) and vintage Axl's singing (the chorus), the difference sticks out like a sore thumb.
He got a female singer to do the high bits (she actually sang the verses in a couple of songs).
shareI'm about the same age as him and I can't hit those high notes anymore either when I'm calling the kitty.
Too many cigarettes.
Wow, that chubby Mexican guy is really good!
I bet he won’t be 2 hours late for sold out concerts like Axl always was!
I saw them Tuesday night in Dublin. It was brilliant gig, they played for 3 and a bit hours. Axel looks a lot healthier these days than he did 12/15 years ago and he seems to be enjoying himself too, bouncing around the stage, which helps to energize the crowd. With support from Gary Clark Jr, You should have a blast!!
P. S. Watch out for the keyboard player 😍
Sounds grand. I’ve had some glorious nights in Dublin; AC/DC, Neil Young, John Fogerty to name a few.
I’m disappointed that I won’t be seeing ‘Fat Axel’ lol.
I will check out the keyboard player 👀👍
Yes, she was fine👀👍
