getting over 20 mpg

reply

That’s wildly inaccurate, don’t offer your opinion if you don’t know what you are talking about.

reply

cmon lighten up .

I dont agree with bashing Americans on the internet either , buit his is , as Andy said , a light hearted teasing.

and you do have comically big cars

reply

Our cars are exactly the proper size, however most of them are not very good looking.

reply

Did you know that all American cars only drive in straight lines - true story.

And your point would be.....?

🤨

reply

Just another thread on the internet meant to cast insults at our great country, the greatest country in the world🇺🇸🦅😎

Just figure the ‘point’ is jealousy and have a laugh with it Brother👍

reply

It’s a shame it came down to that. I was hoping that it was going to be gentle teasing at worst (Naive Andy).

reply

It’s amazing how much ‘The World’ spits at America but as soon as there’s a big problem who shows up with aid, an enormous Navy, free weapons, hot food, modern medicine…There are an awful lot of ingrate countries out there and the next time they get into a war or have a natural disaster maybe The States should take that week off.

We should let them all know how their bread gets buttered and remind them that in a lot of cases they wouldn’t even have any bread if not for the much maligned U.S.A.

Cursing The States is biting the hand that feeds.

reply

I’ve often said that if the US is so bad, why do so many people want to live there?

reply

I’m aware of your life story Andy and you are a great example of a person that arrived here on our shores and worked really hard to build your dream.

You not only built that life, you hit a home run. A lovely family, a fine home, a bustling business and the world is yours.

America really is The Land Of Opportunity, I have a life I hardly deserve but I made a few good choices many years ago. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

reply

Thanks.

People forget that America is one of the most welcoming countries in the world.

reply

You’re very welcome my Dude👍

A long time ago my Irish great grandparents reached these shores. They were fleeing starvation and they busted their asses working for a much better life.

This is The Land for millions of good people to stake a claim.

reply

Very well said. 👍

Everything on your list is true, except motorcycles, super popular and house music.

Invented doesn't mean highly popular. Badminton was invented in England, yet it's now way more popular in Asia.

reply

I don’t really give a fuck.

we do have trains but u are right they are not popular and slow as fuck. i am a big fan tho and have taken all the major cross continental routes since i am big train nerd and would rather spend 3 days on one then go on an airplane ride

reply

What about prices compared to planes?

reply

usually the same or less than a plane. the real cost is the time of the trip. i hate the airports and flying experience tho. i feel like a cattle going to slaughter being lead into those cancerous oven machines and shit. then ur on a bus in the sky being scared of a crash ur whole trip. the train i lose time but there is no stress involved and it is way more scenic and fun

reply

I haven’t taken a long trip In quite a while so I’ll look Amtrak up. I live close to New Orleans and I see it pass through there frequently. Any tips would be appreciated.

reply

the best way to go a crazy amount of miles is a rail pass. u can do 10 trips in a month including really long cross country ones. bring ur own food since it is expensive and not very good in the cafe at least (dining cart was good but u cant go there anymore after tha pandemic unless u have a private room ticket now which sucks because it was actually decent) the best routes i did was San Francisco to Chicago (Colorado mountain part is the best) and Chicago to Seattle (Montana National Glacial Park is the best part of that trip) I also done the Texas Eagle which is the longest trip on the amtrak service which goes from Los Angeles to Chicago not directly like the normal train but thru all the major Texas towns making it like 20 hours longer than the daily train. Texas Eagle is awesome especially once u get to the Rio Grand at El Paso Texas and Ciudad Juárez Mexico border. This Texas train is the longest distance passenger train route in the country but it only runs three times a week unlike most that go daily

Soccer is very popular among kids if not at the professional level. Ever heard of "soccer moms"?

reply

Not only that. The United States has participated in every FIFA World Cup since 1990 until 2014, but they did not qualify for the 2018 competition for the first time since 1986 after a loss to Trinidad and Tobago. They returned to the World Cup by qualifying for the 2022 edition. That's more than most of the rest of the world.

reply

Yeah, I just know that all my friends with kids have them in soccer leagues.
