I've been gaming my whole life, from Star Trek printed on a dot matrix printer and shown on a green screen, through all the arcades, all the consoles, and most computer games. I've played nearly all types.

Can't we come up with ANYTHING BETTER than shooting, killing and gore?

As fun as I find them to be, does anyone else think it's mostly not healthy?

There's a ton of games that don't involve any of this, people just don't play them as much. Frame the problem for what it is.

I prefer city-building games and Sims myself. At the time of this writing, I'm having fun exploring "Surviving Mars," and "Timberborn."
