Movies you're thinking of watching, but not sure if it's worth the rental fee.

Peppermint 2018.

Five years after her husband and daughter are killed in a senseless act of violence, a woman comes back from self-imposed exile to seek revenge against those responsible and the system that let them go free.

I get that this is a John Wick, multiple movie knock off, but its rare to see an A level actress take on this role. Jennifer Garner comes off as so sweet, I'm not sure if she can pull this revenge movie off.

I don't rent, I download *cough* illegally. But there are definitely films I'm on the fence about where I'm not sure if want to go through the effort downloading. "La La Land" for example. I hear it's good, but I hate musicals.

reply

Nah, La La Land was bad. I couldn't finish it, eventhough I don't hate musicals. In The Heights was way more enjoyable.

reply

I like musicals, but I didn't care for La La Land, either. I can't put my finger on why - I just didn't.

reply

Same here.

reply

Ditto. I hated La La Land. Completely overrated and forgettable.

reply

LA LA LAND IS SH SH SHIT.

reply

I doubt I'd like it because musicals are generally shit anyway. The only film I own that's a musical is The Lion King.

reply

I AM ASSUMING YOU JUST FORGOT TO MENTION YOUR COPY OF GREASE...THE GREATEST MUSICAL EVER...RIGHT?

reply

You can joke about me, my family and my religion, but it's never okay to joke about me living Grease.

reply

Where do yo download from these days?

reply

If I posted it here, the mods would take it down.

reply

Fair comment.
I used to do it years ago, wouldn't no where to start now, I just stream now.

reply

I can DM you some links the next time I'm at a computer where all my bookmarks are.

reply

Would appreciate that? Thank you.

reply

Check your DM.

I loved La La Land - it makes me smile and the musical themes get under your skin. But I think you have to see the opening in the cinema for the first time because it deserves a big screen.

reply

GARNER IS EXCELLENT IN THE ROLE...THE FILM IS DISTINCTLY DERIVATIVE OF OTHERS IN THE GENRE...JOHN WICK,NOBODY,DEATH WISH,ETC...BUT IF YOU LIKE THOSE TYPE OF FILMS THIS IS A WORTHY ADDITION.

reply

Rental fee?? I just watch for free online. Then if I like it, I'll buy a used DVD or Blu-ray off of Amazon or ebay. Because hard copies are always immensely better than digital copies.

I RESPECT YOUR PHYSICAL GAME.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ

Peppermint turned up on TV. It was OK but not great and I think I prefer the Jody Foster film The Brave One.

reply

YES...THE BRAVE ONE IS GREATER THAN PEPPERMINT...THE AMAZING MISS FOSTER...WHAT ELSE COULD YOU EXPECT?...PEPPERMINT IS A GOOD AFTERNOON FLICK.

reply

The new Jurassic world movie...i'll wait.

Top Gun II...also wait.'

I can't think of anything else because they're all comic book movies.

Malignant
Prevenge

Not sure about either. Anyone seen these?

reply

Malignant sucked. I watched it for free and still feel like I overpaid.

reply

Prevenge is a great flick.

reply

Peppermint (2018) is an ok film you just have to park your brain. Otherwise it is a very unlikely premise.

You can watch it for free on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gjU93Zzwi8

reply

My library has practically every movie I want so I get to watch 95% of what I want for free.

But, it doesn't have three movies so I might have to shell-out money to stream: "Menashe", "CODA" and "Petite Maman" to stream. The latter about a little girl whose new 8-year-old playmate is her mother who disappeared. It sounds creepy and mysterious:
