What's The Most Important Lesson You Learned In School?

In 8th grade, we sat in a circle. The teacher whispered a sentence to one student, until it got around to the last one. The story of course, had changed so drastically, and since then, I'm still investigating every witness :)

One day some doctor came to the school and showed us several smoker's lung pictures. From that day on I knew that I would not smoke in the future.

Don't put a dog shit in the teachers drawer and then brag about it. Word gets around fast.

LOL
What was the punishment?

Something more important than, say, Earth spinning on its axis and being round? Or 2 add 2 being 4? Or actions having consequences? Or men cannot get pregnant? Or respecting adults?

I thought the lessons about sharing and being nice towards others were good lessons. Sometimes it hard though.

I always liked to play team sports such as basketball, soccer, football, tennis, baseball, and I especially loved volleyball, but it was rare to play because of needing x amount of people, a net, etc..

We had a huge field as you entered the cul-de-sac where we played football/baseball when we had everyone playing. Across the street from me, the neighbors had a side lot, smaller games of football/baseball, which we did sometimes in my backyard, but that was mostly basketball and soccer (exclusively)

I think sports can be a great metaphor. Not everyone can be the scorer. Some have to do the dirty work. Some have to play defense. Some have to do the things that don't show up in data, but if everyone was a "star in their own role", we could have a better world.
