What are your thoughts on Johnny Depp? And this whole defamation trial?

It seems fucked up and dysfunctional this whole trial. It's sad how Depp's career has suffered because of this. He will probably get the OJ treatment and be casted as a pariah in Hollywood.

"That was not from my 4 lbs. yorkie."
- Johnny Depp

I think its hilarious.

I want to know how you can sever the tip of someone's finger by throwing a vodka bottle at them. Was it a very pointy vodka bottle or was it a bottle that Amber Heard had "prepared earlier" ? Does Amber Heard have a super extreme killer throwing arm ?

reply

I’ll throw some vodka bottles at you so we can find out. Mind you, I’d have to drink the contents first, so my aim might get gradually worse.

reply

Sounds like another fantasy land scenario.

reply

It’s all in the interest of science.

reply

That testimony was well corroborated with physical evidence.

reply

I'm not suggesting that Depp didn't lose the tip of his finger, that would be easily verified. I just don't see how it could have been cut off by a thrown vodka bottle.

reply

I also questioned that claim when I first heard of it. The testimony in this video, beginning at the 14min. mark, adequately explains the physics of that encounter to me.

I don't think about them.

reply

I think those two deserved each other.

What a pity they broke up - now four people are going to be miserable, instead of two!

reply

Who do you mean by 4 people????

reply

Oh dear. I mean that whoever gets with Depp or Heard is going to find themselves very unhappy, because they're with an unhappy and toxic person.

Anything else you need explained?

reply

He's already a pariah in Hollywood because of her allegations. This current lawsuit is all about trying to reverse that.

reply

"Cancel" culture is lame....

reply

It's beyond lame. It's a wearisome trend.

reply

Depp seems to be a mostly functional and well-adjusted person (by Hollywood standards, of course).

Heard, on the other hand, is nothing short of a malignant, narcissistic sociopath who should be getting serious psychological help instead of movie roles - and the fact of how cheerfully the media went along with her story despite any actual evidence should give anyone who's still listening to them some serious pause.

reply

If he's coming across that way in the trial, perhaps I was wrong, and he still had a few great performances left in him!

Because FYI for the last 5-10 years his working reputation has been that of a irresponsible drunk who's thrown away his fortune and who holds up film production because of substance abuse issues, and who demands cue cards everywhere because he can't or won't remember his lines. That's the big reason his career has been going down hill, that and the crap performances he's given... he's just not worth the money he asks. And don't accuse me of being an Amber supporter, I think she's toxic AF, but then I think they're both toxic. Both sides of an argument and both combatants in a feud can be wrong, you know.

reply

His drinking and substance abuse don't actually surprise me at all; in fact, it's more or less in line with what I expect from any big-name Hollywood actor.

But his lifestyle, whatever one may think of it, is not what's on trial here, his being violent towards her is. And as far as that's concerned, Amber has been able to provide exactly zero evidence for her claims, for all of his boozing and smoking and snorting, meaning she plain and simply lied about being a victim of domestic abuse for fame and clout. And as for that...

I generally find the word "evil" to be too childishly simplistic to be applied to anything in the real world, but I'm struggling to find any other here.

reply

I've been mainly ignoring their marital problems. They appear to be two losers who deserve each other.

I lost any respect for Depp when he cried about being "broke" after spending $600 million on nonsense.

reply

I like him as an actor and enjoy most of his movies- at least the ones that I've seen.

What he does in his personal life is none of my business and of no concern to me.
