they now have competition.

reply

Lot’s!

actually some of that competition dropped in after hours trading as well. Covid easing, growth prospects slowing. What happened here might be a warning to all of them, and they really have to clamp down on password sharing.

reply

i read that thousands are canceling services because the pandemic is "over".

reply

Essy. Netflix just need to introduce a new pandemic then. But this time it better stays foreverrrr.

reply

I don’t think I know anyone who doesn’t share their password, myself included.

reply

Password sharing is an issue I'm sure, but their programming and the price increases are a big problem too.

Plus, they can't always expect growth. I mean isn't that really where there are losing money? Eventually they will have tapped out the market. Especially when they keep raising prices.

Are they really "losing money" I don't really understand all the finer details of projected profits in the world of finance but if they project a profit and then if they don't reach those projections, they lose money? They do that in oil all the time. The companies are still raking in billions, but they are 'losing' money because it was fewer billions than they thought?

The money men are crying becasue the growth period is over
unrestricted economic growth is what our economies depend on , and fucks the planet up.

fixing the password thing would just be a one off money shot , it wouldnt fix the
"Hey the magic cash cow is not giving more every day than the day before" problem

This reply may be redundant, because whomever was first to reply to the OP is an asshat I have on Ignore, so I cannot see other previous replies; but the reason for Netflix’ woes is mainly mediocre-to-shit content and some actual, y’know, REAL competition in a marketplace where ‘flix had grown fat and flabby. It’s a demeaning that is richly deserved.

I’ve never got into streaming. Pretty much the only two channels I ever watch now are TCM and MeTV.
