It really depends, because perfume mixes with your own personal body chemistry and creates it's own kind of scent. That's why the same perfume on one person doesn't smell identical when worn by another person. It also depends on personal preference and who you want to attract.
For example, when I've worn Vera Wang's Princess, men seem to really like it. When I've worn Dolce & Gabbana's Dolce or Marc Jacobs's Daisy, other women seem to love it. I think that's the difference between a vanilla-based perfume and a floral perfume, but different people like different smells. What smells do you like?

sharePerhaps, but I do agree that body chemistry and preference are the biggest factors.
So many places are scent free zones now, I sometimes wonder why they still make perfume.
Probably because it's still really profitable and because individualism and consumerism are so intrinsically tied these days, so people love buying "their" scent in order to maintain a physical projection of their inner self and companies love money.
