An unforeseen future nestled somewhere in time
Unsuspecting victims no warnings, no signs
Judgment day the second coming arrives
Before you see the light you must die

South of Heaven by Slayer

reply

I don't believe in an interventionist God
But I know, darling, that you do
But if I did I would kneel down and ask Him
Not to intervene when it came to you

Into My Arms - Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

good song. love the video

reply

Yeah it’s a fantastic video too.

Interesting that Cave himself wasn’t happy with the finished product. Apparently he thought it was too depressing and worked against the uplifting message he was trying to convey in the song. Imagine something being too dark for Nick Cave, of all people!!

How can you see into my eyes like open doors?
Leading you down into my core where I've become so numb
Without a soul, my spirit's sleeping somewhere cold
Until you find it there and lead it back home

the fall - garden

The first god had in his garden
From the back looked like a household pet
When it twirled round was revealed to be
A three-legged black-grey hog
See what flows from his mushy pen

The Smiths - How Soon is Now

I am the son and the heir
Of a shyness that is criminally vulgar

reply

Good one ☝️

reply

It’s crazy how that song is so great but so unlike their normal sound.

reply

True. What I love about most of their music is how the bright and uplifting melodies and arrangements contrast to the often dour and angst-ridden lyrical content. Genius and so unique!
