Great friendship movies.

There are countless films about romantic love, but what about films where two people form a great, lasting friendship?

Here are a few that come to mind:

1. The Bridges of Madison County (1995) - sure the main plot focuses on the romance but there is a scene where Streep’s character knocks on the door of this ostracized woman, gives her a pie and they become great friends.

2. Forrest Gump (1994) - Forrest & Lt Dan

After having watched these just recently, I think Tears of the Sun (2003) & The Four Feathers (2002), are perfect examples.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) - The title characters
Papillion (1973) - Dustin Hoffman and Steve McQueen
Midnight Cowboy (1969) - Dustin Hoffman and Jon Voight
The Sting (1973) - Robert Redford and Paul Newman
The Shawshank Redemption (1994) - Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman
