In its origin days, it was probably amazing as talented entertainment, when people had to go out to view everything.
Lot of skill, talent, and grace involved.

I love nearly all music but can't tolerate opera either. To much whailing for me. Same but totally different, can't stand death metal either, and I just now realized how those two are the same.

But everyone is allowed to be different and I respect people that enjoy ballet, unless it is only to front like they are something special.

I find it a bit prissy, to me it's an art form that has gone too far, to extreme lengths. Having said that Ballerinas can be very elegant and physically impressive in person, shame about their poor feet though.

I like it. Not seen much live but I enjoy it. There is a local company - Ballet Cymru - who do things a little differently and are just good fun to watch.

I like ballet music but I don't like the dancing for the most part. The music for Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake and Nutcracker Suite is great but there are a lot of slow and soothing moments. The only time I enjoyed the dancing of ballet was Carmina Burana by Carl Orff since the one performance had these athletic leaps and they were running around faster than rock stars on coke.

Nah. No interest in watching people tiptoe around for a couple hours

I saw Swan Lake a few years back, a top Russian Troupe. It was ok, it got a bit ridiculous at times. At the end they did about 3 or 4 curtain calls. Quite eye rolling. I'm not a ballet guy so maybe they all do that and it's tradition or something.

I was surprised that you could hear the floor thud when they would land from their fancier moves. We were second row. I figured they would be able to land in such a way that it would be silent.

I enjoyed it but wouldn't bother with it again.
