i was discussing voyeurs with someone the other day, & got into talking about how that's such an atypical movie. most mid-budget and higher movies are absolutely devoid of sex now, and have been for ages. at least, that's how it seems to me.

so i'm putting together a list of my favourite raunchy movies - either movies that have tons of sex (your handmaidens, your body heats...), or just have a scene or two that get my motor running.

i'm a bit stymied so far...

i've only got:

the handmaiden
mullholland drive (obviously)
y tu mama tambien

i'm sure there are billions of others i'm blanking on. tons of foreign stuff that has slipped my mind.

please name them!

the dreamers has gotten a few mentions i think. not available for streaming anywhere, frustratingly. but i'll keep an eye open for it.

i saw the lickerish quartet ages ago & can't really remember much about it.

i am boycotting blue is the warmest colour cuz it's so insanely long!

but i am trying to track down the rest of your list.

Blue is the Warmest Colour is really good tho'. Don't miss it just because of it's runtime. One can always pause and watch again later / next day.

i've heard great things about it, & maaaybe one day i'll give it a try.

i'm probably going to see drive my car this weekend, & that's another endlessly long epic that makes me groan inside just thinking about having to sit through all of it. so it's not like i'll never watch things that length. but i sure prefer not to...

I planned to watch Drive My Car in two sittings because it was late, but the movie was so immersive and enganging I couldn't stop. I ended up not sleeping lol.

i see you saw my letterboxd rating/review, so you already know, but i'm happy to repeat here that i really, really liked it. i honestly think it's the first franco film that didn't bore me to death.

Y Tu Mama Tambein is certainly one of my favourites.

Not all of these are good, but they have some good scenes.

Agreed. I didn't think Wild Orchid was good either, but at least Mickey Rourke was still somewhat attractive.

Match Point (particularly impressive to have hot scenes with very little actual nudity)
Secretary (kinda played for laughs, though)
The Hunger
Boogie Nights (also played for laughs a bit)
Excalibur and Zardoz (both by John Boorman)
Fast Times at Ridgemont High

There's also teen sex comedy stuff like Porky's and Revenge of the Nerds.

Oh, and Striptease and Showgirls - although I haven't seen those.

the hunger is a movie that mystifies me. i've watched it 3 or 4 times over the years, and i've never once come close to enjoying it to be honest. no movie where catherine deneuve has lesbian sex should be so boring to me!

secretary was great - good call.

I get that. Every movie is not for every person. But as far as movies with raunchy scenes go, it's up there, whether you're digging the movie as a whole or not.
