Elizabeth Taylor was in a handful of them in the late 60s and early 70s..
Check out "Secret Ceremony" which also has Robert Mitchum. It's strange, and might be confusing at first, but stick with it - it's pretty good. I wonder if it gets better (or worse) with a second viewing.
Idk, maybe A Scanner Darkly with Keanu Reeves. It's a weird hybrid animation-styled live-action indie film. I didn't even understand what happened in the story because the effect looked terrible and made everything unclear.
"The Brave" (1997) with Johnny Depp it's a weird arty film, very stark and depressing. I get a kick out of thinking about how many young women watched it because of him only to be traumatized by it all. That is of course if they stuck with it as it is hard going.
"Dogville" (2003) with Nicole Kidman. It's more like watching a play and also very stark and depressing.
Figures in a Landscape (1970), with Malcom McDowell - probably the weirdest action film I've ever seen.
Crimes of Passion (1984), with Kathleen Turner - a very Ken Russel sex thriller.
The Trial (1993), with Kyle MacLachlan and Anthony Hopkins - I mean, it's Kafka, so it's basically cheating. But seriously, this is an amazing adaptation.
Slipstream (2007), with Anthony Hopkins - incredibly weird all the way through.
Only Lovers Left Alive (2013), with Tilda Swinton - Jim Jarmusch does vampires.
