From what I’ve seen it is more like people just abusing each other than discussion.
Petition signed but just bear in mind that those members might just start political threads everywhere else.
I remember the last time this was brought up, (what was it, 2 weeks ago?) one of the mods stopped by and pointed out that many of the members tried to keep political discussions in the politics section showing that it worked. The same mod pointed out that before politics was added political discussions were still happening, just that everyone was complaining about them since they'd happen anywhere instead of one board that everyone who didn't want to participate could ignore.

You see Biden a lot - not all the time. Trump's photo in trending was all the time with 2-3 exceptions that I remember. If he runs again, expect his face to be back in full force.
It didn't bother me and I thought it was funny like H***, but it obviously bothered some people which is the reason MC created the Politics board and banned political chat elsewhere.
Not only will politics bleed everywhere else, but the trolls will too and they only want to agitate. Don't expect the monitors to do much.

MC didn't create the politics board as far as I remember, it was always there since the beginning. I think what they did was moving the link to be more prominent under the General Discussion link and usher people who wanted to discuss politics into it.

shareUsing AdBlock you can prevent political figures from the trending bar. With the extension installed, right click on the page, select the element you wish to block (Picture) and that particular forum should no longer trend for you.
shareI vote to keep the politics section. Politics never ends so the discussions will never stop. A lot of shows have breaks between seasons so the chatter dies down. The politics board is a good way to keep people coming back to the site in between seasons of their favorite shows. Other than Squid Game, it took a few weeks for most of my posts on shows or movies to receive a response. I usually get responses within hours on the politics board and the conversations are not always toxic.

You wont see this as you have me on ignore but to other users I say I quite appreciate the Politics Board...Let the political types murder each other all the live-long day over there, it keeps them busy so very little of their bullshit falls under the fence into our happy playground
