This could have been a better movie, but it lacked focus. Initially, you think it was going to be a romantic movie, and it's when I was most interested. Then she disappears for quite a while, while Olmi shows a lot of scenes that add nothing to the story, usually with characters who never appear again, who's conversations are inane. Like a fart interrupting a nice conversation.
Promising Young Woman (2020) - 6/10. Forgettable revenge film. The main character is too low key and low energy. Didn’t build mych sympathy for her and her plight.

I love Pasolini's first two feature movies (and documentaries) but don't know what happened after that. I don't think I've been able to finish any other movie after.

It wasn't bad but it wasn't something I'd bother to see again.
after participating in a bit of mike flanagan talk here earlier this week, i decided to re-watch absentia, his micro-budget crowd-funded first film.
i'm not gonna sit here and tell you that this is flanagan's greatest film. certainly it's not all there technically. it has some community theatre-level acting moments. it has some clunky dialogue.
but i still will say he's never made a more effective film, or a more efficient one, not just in its pacing but in how it gets so much atmosphere out of its minimal budget and effects.
one of my favourite indie horror films, and one of my favourite films really, with all its flaws. 4.5/5
No Time to Die 8/10
