shareWishmaster - Real middle of the road for me. Probably wouldn’t watch it on my own again, maybe check out the sequel. Some nice practical effects and some horrendous digital ones.

this is quite a movie.
as a guy who's at an age where you sometimes can feel like you've seen it all and maybe seen it all too many times, this is a cinematic gift.
whatever might be said about this, it is not bland, factory assembled, cookie-cutter stuff.
not to say it's completely unlike anything i've seen before. it's got some cronenberg squirm inducing body horror stuff. it has some of the feel of those french horror films of the last decade. it's got some angry feminist messaging, i guess. i'll leave it to the intellectuals to sort that stuff out.
i was going to see halloween kills today, but i might go and see this again instead.
if you see it, try not to read anything about it. go in as blind as possible.
