What is your record for the maximum amount of times you saw a single film in the theater?

I've seen countless films twice while they were in theater. The most I've ever seen a single film in the theater is Gladiator which is three times. While I think it's a great film, I only saw it a third time because the crowd I was with all voted to go and see it, I opted to see something else, but alas.

What's your record?

reply

Star Wars (1977) - I was 10, just moved to Florida from England. It was a big deal; I lost count.

reply

3 times in a month..Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Its the only film I've seen multiple times...unless it was at a pub cinema. Pub Movies theaters I've seen stuff like Princess Bride or Ghostbusters multiple times.

reply

The Thing 1983 - twice
The Changeling 1980 - twice

there are other movies i saw the second time because i was distracted the first time.

reply

IF YOU WERE "DISTRACTED" THEN WE CAN DAMN WELL BE SURE YOUR DATE DIDN'T SEE A DAMN THING.😏

reply

E.T. was one such movie.

reply

Carrie, 1976 - 9 times

reply

wow, that is really something. is there any kind of story with that? was it that it really struck a chord?

reply

There was only one theater in town.
And I didn't have anything better to do on a Saturday night.

reply

Wow! Not too many people can say that.

reply

I saw Jaws, 3 times in the same theater.
I dont own Carrie, and haven't watched it in a very long time, at least a decade. But Jaws I own, and have watched that so many times, I'd be embarrassed to say.

My favorite line?
" What kind of ice cream do you want?"
"coffee"

reply

The mom says "What about ice-cream" and he says "coffee"

reply

Ha! You like that scene too....or you're just a Jaws fan in general...either way, good stuff.

reply

Wait, new or when they bring classics back to the big screen? I thought you were, like 40.

reply

Back in 1976 - which would have made me 15ish.
I'm 59, but really immature.

reply

3x each:

Faceoff
Independence Day
The Matrix
Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring

reply

STAR WARS = '77, '77, '77, '97

reply

Inglourious Basterds (2009) is the last movie I saw multiple times in the theater. 3 times

The Dark Knight (2008) the most I saw a movie in the theater. I saw the midnight showing and once more by myself a few days later. The other times I went with friends. So a total of 5 times

reply

I don't understand the praise for Dark Knight, Joker was so much better.

reply

Joker is excellent I agree

Batman is my favorite hero since I was young so that's why I saw The Dark Knight multiple times and also I had seen Batman Begins a few times in the theaters when it came out as well

reply

You made me think about this. I don't think I've seen a Batman I like yet. I think they try to make him to robotic, so you can't connect with him. Hmmmmm.

reply

My favorite Batman has always been Kevin Conroy's fom the animated series

reply

Weirdly I think I like Michael Keaton as Batman, but he's not the answer, thats still out there. Its like Superman.......Superman is Christopher Reeves. Done deal. I don't think we've hit the done deal for Batman.

reply

Robert Pattinson is going to nail the role when The Batman is in theaters, Pattinson is really cool

I thought Bale was great in the Nolan movies, did you not like those T?

reply

I like Bale in The Machinist, but I want more emotion in my Batman. That may be asking too much. Like with Bond, I wasn't a fan of Sean Connery 's cool persona. I preferred the funnier Roger Moore.

reply

I guess we see it differently, I think an assassin or a vigilante would have no sense of humor and would be all about the murdery parts of his day (or night)

I can't wait to see Pattinson, the teaser trailer looked really good👍
