I managed to get a High School degree but I went to a horrible High School, you got a Diploma for not stabbing anyone in that shit hole!
Seriously, a few of those homeroom boys have been dead for 2 decades...drugs, poor driving and suicide:/
All those good lads are dead now

When I was about 20 and working a nowhere gig for a big outfit for 23 grand a year I told the boss I would require 25 thousand a year to continue working for her...She politely told me to piss off...Her Partner in the company took me aside and told me 'buy a pickup truck, get some lawn equipment on credit, buy a ladder to clean gutters and learn all about painting sheds and fences, and By God get your ass into college!

On his stern advice I
earned 3 degrees and got a big job...Did any of you have a 'work Rabbi' like that?

I think we should treat the neighborhood kids well, it could mean the difference between a funeral or a lovely life for the kid

Education, American History and Social Work...I work a lot with kids

Bless her...I'm very impressed by people that can work with families and kids, that's my line of work too...social workers and teachers are pretty great people...They're not US Marines or Nurses or anything so dire but I quite respect them anyway, Hell, I do that gig, it's really hard

You need to love and accept the children to be in my line of work

When I started my first company, I was working a stupid number of hours. A colleague who was retiring from the industry took me in one side and said, “there’s no point being the richest guy in the graveyard.” Excellent advice.

I had a warning rabbi. My aunts boyfriend said, "Don't get a degree in Anthropology, its useless. What kind of job are you going to get with that degree". Of course I ignored him, like an idiot 18 year old. If I ever saw him again, I'd shake his hand, and say thanks for trying.😁

I'm the opposite
I thought "get a high level in qualification for something incedibly technical and difficult that the world would collapse without it, and you'll be well rewarded"
so i did Electro mechanical Engineering , to just-below-degree level

Turns out nobody wanted my engineering skills.
But if had I got a degree in "Smelling my own farts" or similar
the job offers would be flooding in becasue :
"youve got a degree!
doesent mater what subject!
a degree shows you can work on your own
a degree shows motivation
a degree shows you know howe to study"

Well fuck you employers!
Fluid dynamics and calculus shows you have a brain , not babbling 50k words about pop music for your "Michael jackson" degree

I confess that I’ve never been fortunate enough to have had one breakthrough conversation with an elder that made me change courses with my life or behaviour.

I became aware of my flaws around age 23 when I grew up a bit and stopped blaming everything on other people. After that it was a gradual process. I’m still not 100% happy with who I am but hopefully I’ll get there before I snuff it completely. 😛

I once worked at one of those fast oil change shops while I was in college in my early 20’s and the parts people would deliver to us in their personal vehicles. There was this really good looking delivery girl a little older than me who flirted with me like crazy. A wise older gentleman at work stopped me one day and said “Are you messing around with her?” I told him no and he said “Good. If you’ve seen how messy the inside of her car is how do you think she keeps everything else?”

I blew her off after that and I’ve wondered about it all these years. 😆

They are clearly both total nuts, just keep a screwdriver in your pocket for the occasional stabbing, you can't get arrested for having a screwdriver in your pocket but you can fuck a guy up real bad with a screwdriver😉

Good advice

I used to keep a bat under the hedge by my driveway, I used it on a few fellas one night...long story short, I only cracked one big fellow in his fat belly and another guy on the elbow during a disagreement

That bunch of fuckheads got the message

It was entirely my fault but to hell with those guys

I was dating one of their sister's and had taken up with a super cute Puerto Rican chick at the same time from down near The Bronx...It was just a big stupid error by me but a bunch of guys following me home set me off

Big fight, I won, Don't follow me home M-Fers, I'm pretty good at violent shit
