A couple of years ago, wanting a pet but facing the fact that my apartment is too small, I started buying stuffed animals. I typically go for more realistic ones (after all, I'm not a seven-year-old). This one was delivered a couple days ago, it is really cute - https://hansatoystore.com/products/Kookabura-SPECIAL-ORDER-ONLY-2790

The last thing I bought was a pink dust pan that I ended up using as a snow brush in Jasper a couple of days ago.

reply

how was your hiking trip?

reply

It was really good. Had to cut it short by one day at the end because it snowed on us in Jasper, but we mostly had good weather.

reply

so did you cook off one of those coleman propane stoves?

reply

Yeah, I have a small bottle top one for hiking.

If my partner can get the time off next summer we might try to do the whole trail. It's supposed to take about 8 weeks. We started in Lake Louise and what a gong show that was. The area was sooooo busy with tourists that it was gross. I hadn't been to Lake Louise of Moraine Lake in the summer for years, and maybe it's just because of Covid and people are staying in country, but from what I heard talking to some others that if you don't get to Moraine lake by like 5am the road will be closed as there is no parking. That's just way too many people at any time for my taste.

Some parts of the trail were closed and we needed to take the alternate route. We did 167km which was short of my goal, but that was just an ideal goal and not the end of the world that we didn't make it. I do need to get new shoes though. I guess that will be the next new thing that I buy.

reply

So you walked 167km in the higher elevation?

reply

Yeah. I had wanted to do 20 kms a day but I just wasn't quite there yet.

reply

that is impressive.
