Overused movie or tv show cliches/tropes that you absolutely HATE! A thread...

There are A LOT & You don't have to name name all of them. Just a couple & let's keep it going till, I don't know, the end of time maybe. lol

I'm gonna start us off...

When a character has a gun & clearly has the upper hand over the other person but takes out the bullets & throws away the gun so they can fight hand to hand. It's so stupid & happens WAY too often

Keep it going...

calmly walking away from an explosion

reply

This is very annoying one.
Especially when most of the scenes explosions are often very close and only pure luck save the guy. It's like every person in this movies has a genius ability to measure by inches the closer he can be without getting hurt . Not only the fire, there are screws, nails, glass that can hurt or even kill him - it's really stupid decision.

Person 1: "How do I know if I can trust you?"
Person 2: "You can't"

and for some reason this is always the answer that convince them to trust him/her.

'I have no phone signal, several of our friends are missing and the car wont start...Let's split up'

reply

"There's a known serial killer on the loose"

"Should we stick together?"

"Naaah"

reply

'Let's go skinny dipping, what could go wrong, Wheeee!'

reply

"Let's go make out at a secluded area, where none of our friends can hear us scream for help"

reply

'I'm sure the batteries in the flashlight are new Babe, stop worrying so much!'

reply

"Oh, there's a car chasing me? I'm just gonna keep running straight, on the road"

A lot of characters went to The Prometheus school of running away from things

reply

LOL, true

girl running from bad guy falls

If I remember my basic High School biology class there is a vine called the 'Sexy Chick-Tripping' weed

If you're running from a lunatic with a hatchet watch out for those vines girls

Exploding cars is a good one

According to 'Thriller: They Call Her One Eye' (73) every car in Sweden is rigged to explode if they drive onto the grass!

Don't drive off the road in Sweden guys💥💥💥

This one made my day. 🤣

Chase scenes in the suburbs would be tense af! 😅

reply

I liked this movie a lot but any time someone piled into a car I was like, 'Drive responsibly, those things totally always explode' LOL

reply

Totally Ominous shit happened around these parts and the one-eyed man at the diner is going to tell you city kids all about it

reply

Not only only are the city kids gonna ignore him, they're gonna go to a secluded place in the middle of nowhere & not tell a single soul where they're going

Using power tools and killing a dude slowly in a horror or crime film

Power tools in general are cranky as fuck...Imagine torturing a Nazi spy in a war movie and having to take a break to recharge the Ryobi battery...'FML, just wait right here you Nazi guy, I'll be back in 30 minutes'

reply

I've gone camping a lot...sometimes we brought a jock football guy, a nerdy chick or a black dude, but never an angry goth chick, life is too short for that

reply

i want a horror franchise with nothing but bitter, angry goth girls.
a lot.

I expected this post from you 😉

lol

The miscommunication.

instead of person A and person B talking about what was heard like a normal human being would.

They decide to overthink what they heard or saw to get into a zany funny scenario, or some negative situation and I am so bored by this.

This is basically RomComs in a nutshell

reply

'But you were totally in the same room and you complimented her dress!'

'Yeah, it was a pretty dress, that doesn't mean I'm
banging her.'

This dialogue would solve 90% of rom-com arguments

reply

"It's not what it looks like"

"Ok..."

"So you gonna listen to my what it actually is?"

"Nah, I'm gonna run away crying & just assume the worst"

"But why?"

"So the movie can happen"
