shareyea, i like dags
shareI am not a dog person. I like cats though.
shareI like them, grew up with them, but don't want to have one now: too much of a disruption. Dealing with what to do in the case of travel or even absences during a work day, logistics etc.
I'd much rather enjoy the company of other people's dogs either while visiting, or chit-chatting with them in the neighborhood*
*with the exception of when certain people who own over-anthropomorphized badly behaved dogs and who seem to be completely oblivious to the fact.
We have owned 2 Siberian Huskies. They are great dogs.
shareI don't. I don't like many of their behaviors such as barking.
shareThing is, most of the time, dogs will love you and be more affectionate than cats. Which is awesome. But there are downsides to dogs - You can't leave them alone for very long and have to bring them everywhere. You can't just give them a litterbox, you have to physically take them outside every time they go. You have to take them for walks, take them to a park etc. etc. It's just a lot more work than a cat.
shareDogs do not "love" you. They are animals incapable of complex emotions or reasoning. What people misread as "affection" is an aspect of the dog's survival instinct. The owners are the animal's supplier of food, water and shelter, nothing more. The dog clings to them for survival.
