What are some shows that got you absolutely hooked from the FIRST episode

I feel like a lot of streaming shows nowadays don't get interesting until like the halfway point. You get people being like, "You have to keep watching. It'll get better". Personally, I like giving shows a 3 episode test. If it hasn't sold me by the third episode, then I'm bailing.

And I love slow burn shows but you gotta keep me interested in order to keep watching. I remember not so long ago that the first episode aka The Pilot basically "had to sell you" the show. Most of my favorite shows, like 90% of them, got me hooked on the first episode. Here are some of my faves...

2. Lost
3. Doom Patrol
4. The X-Files
5. Supernatural
6. The Flash
7. Prison Break
8. Justified
9. Arrow
10. WestWorld
11. The Mandalorian
12. Psych
13. Battlestar Galactica
14. Alias
15. Person of Interest

Sure, some of them went downhill afterwards & I kinda gave up on them but that first episode of theirs is still freaking amazing

As you said, some of these started out amazing and then after about 2 seasons stunk or some stuck around too long.

I just started Ozark pretty recently. I've only seen the first season. And that first episode just hooks you. It just gets right into it.

Doom Patrol...I'm not completely on board but its the best series I've seen in 2021.

Personally, it's my favorite DC show right now. It's weird, it's bizarre & it just completely embraces the absurdities of its comics

Seriously, I'm NOT that familiar with them as long as comics go but the show is so well cast. It was so freaking awesome seeing (and hearing) Brendan Fraser again. Love that guy. He's awesome.

Robot man is definitely my favorite character

Agreed but that guy is on his last legs...Love him but he gained like 30 pounds in the last 3 years. His voice is gold.

Apparently, he was like sexually harassed by the head of one of the Guilds or something. And also, he'd been sucked dry financially by an awful ex wife

I just found out about his struggles recently myself. Dude has been through some stuff in the past decade. Explains why he basically just "disappeared"

Breaking Bad was definitely one that had this effect on me. Once I started, I just couldn't stop. Same goes for Supernatural.

They both seem to be a new generation of DC-verse for The CW. Amy Smart is part of the Stargirl cast, which encouraged me to watch. She is always a class act.
