Do you want UFO's to be........

1. Extraterrestrial

2. From earth - present day

3. From earth - time travelers from the future.

I want them to be #1.

The problem is how LUCKY we've been here on this PLANET where several things have happened to make life for us HUMANS possible.

Another PROTO PLANET HITTING the EARTH just at the right angle back when the SOLAR SYSTEM was still forming is one example. Because that also created our MOON (which keeps the planet locked in a stable enough AXIS that we have SEASONS and can grow food). Without the MOON we'd be SCREWED.

Still another example is the ASTEROID that WIPES OUT the DINOSAURS which then enables mammals to thrive after that. Without that happening we might also still be FOOD for those BIG BEASTS.

So when you stop to consider all of the MANY STEPS leading up to our SURVIVAL and our EXISTENCE here on this PLANET in this SOLAR SYSTEM, that probably also means other LIFE out there isn't very likely to have been as LUCKY as we've been.

We didnt need a planet to hit us
The moon doesent keep us in a stable axis
We dont need seasons to grow food
Dinosaurs would have died out anyway

But other than that i agree - its a pretty big string of coincidences
and given the number of stars , its bound to have happened elsewhere too.

You can't grow food INSIDE for the BILLIONS of people that we have on this PLANET.

WITHOUT the MOON:

>> the hours of our days would change. Suddenly, without the moon, our days would last between 6 and 12 hours, rather than the 24 hours

>>If our days became this short, then we would have significantly more days in our calendar year. Instead of 365 days in a year, we would have over a thousand.

>>Since the moon affects the altitude and movement of Earth’s water, our ocean tides would shrink.

>>The change in the Earth’s rotational speed and a change in the Earth’s tilt would also affect the Earth’s weather patterns. If the moon slows down the Earth’s rotation, then the moon also affects the wind and wind speeds on our planet. Without the moon, we would see an increase in wind speeds. Winds could become much faster and much stronger without the moon.

>>The moon affects the angle of the Earth’s tilt. Currently, the Earth sits at a 23.5-degree tilt. This means our planet leans slightly to one side as it sits in space. The tilt creates what we know as seasons and changing weather. Without the pull of the moon, this tilt would change. Either the tilt would become extreme, leading to extreme and severe seasons, or the tilt would decrease, and we would see almost no seasons at all.

>>The moon influences life as we know it on Earth. It influences our oceans, weather, and the hours in our days. Without the moon, tides would fall, nights would be darker, seasons would change, and the length of our days would alter.

>>Scientists have long agreed that the Moon formed when a protoplanet, called Theia, struck Earth in its infancy some 4.5 billion years ago.

time travelers from the future would be the most interesting.

I would like to think extraterrestials were walking amongst us, and we didn't know it.

I would like extraterrestrial, and I do think that with how many stars there are out there that at least one of them has to have a planet with life in orbit around it. I just don't think that they have the capability to find us. It would be interesting though.

I want them to be from Earth but from a hidden kingdom, hidden in plain sight.
