Minari deserves to win the Best Picture Oscar

I'm Asian but not being biased. It deserves to win. Period. Any questions?

reply

you wanta bet on your predication ?

reply

Yes! You're on! How much?

reply

If minari wins I'll watch it & make a Post on the good & bad of the Film, if another film wins the Oscar you'll do the same about a Film I'm fond of.

reply

You're gonna lose that bet, Bubba.

😎

reply

I was just looking for an excuse to pay for it On demand but he didn't take the Bet so he avoided watching my Pick

reply

He dropped the ball.

😎

reply

I was gonna pick a movie with an asian cast for him to watch

reply

I liked Nomadland better.

reply

same here. but minari was pretty great, too.

reply

Too bad, the Asian movie being best picture quota was used last year.

This year they'll probably pick some movie directed by a black dude. Nowadays, to win an Oscar you need to wait until the year the quota falls in your group.

reply

KKX race-baiting, again.

reply

What is the OP doing?

reply

He's 'not being biased' - , i can tell 'cos he said so :)

reply

OP is fine. My issue is with KuKuXu racist crap ad nauseum on this site.

reply

Keelai is obsessed with the KKK. I've already said that my nick is a Basque word that means 'flea', but he's convinced it's some kind of secret code that refers to KKK to subtlety say that I'm a member or some shit like that 🀣

It's kinda interesting, though, in its own way. Watching that type of behavior, you understand why centuries ago some people could become convinced there were witches everywhere. Same mindset.

reply

People wouldn't associate your name with KKK unless you were always racist. Which you mostly are.

reply

unless you were always racist. Which you mostly are.

Well, argue why I "mostly am".

Be aware that I am not insulting you. I am not attacking you. I'm not trying to censor you. Indeed, quite the opposite, I'm openly inviting you to argue your statement.

reply

Yep. Sad but true. And the black actor who died will probably win best actor.

😎

reply

Why do you think it it deserves to win? I haven't seen Minari yet, but I would pick Nomadland to win.

reply

I have a question πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈ

What’s Minari?

reply

A great movie. You're required to see it.

reply

Oh well if it’s a requirement.

Then no.

But sell it to me in 50 words or less.

reply

It's about Asian people. That's it.

I'm so good as persuasion! My teachers always told me my essays are A+

reply

If β€œthat’s it,” that’s not even close to being enough. You completely failed to interest me.

reply

Minari is a movie of course, but it's also a vegetable used extensively in Korean cooking. And the grandmother in this film
plants a bunch of it.

😎

reply

A movie??? Well I would never have guessed! Wow. And about a granny who grows vegetables? Awesome, sounds like a thrill ride.

reply

Okay smart-ass. Control your sarcasm there.

😎

reply

Ah... no.

But thanks for the suggestion dumb-ass πŸ˜‰

Settle down, it was just a joke πŸ˜ƒ

reply

Okay jackass!

😎

reply

That’s the spirit!

πŸ‘πŸ‘

reply

LOL!

😎

reply

It does look very good!

I want to have an Asian friend... wanna be him?

reply

Sure.

reply

Ok, now you have to partake in my weekly thread AND my game

reply

Damn. Okay, fair enough.

reply

πŸ˜†

reply

I have never heard of it. If it makes white people in America look bad, I'm all for it!

reply

another of our lovely 'white grievance' twits checks in.

reply

White people are racist and enslave all people of color.

reply

there's no buzz around this movie

reply

That's cause Nomadland is gonna win. Its director, Chole Zhao has already won, and Frances McDormand will win best actress.

😎

reply

since i have by no means seen even most of the nominiees, am not qualified to venture an opinion, other than to say that nomadland is one of the most powerful films i've seen in some years, and mcdormand was magnificent in it. the role just suited her nature.

another fine film mcdormand was in in recent years was Olive Kitteridge, which my sister tells me is an adaptation of a fine novel.
